It is located in the back corner of Hildalgo Park and across the street from the church of the third order and only one block to the cathedral. This historic building dates to the 17th century and was the famous college of San Idelfonso, which became the University of the Yucatán.
This building was converted into a hotel in 1955 with continuing construction adding the third floor, swimming pool in the 1970s. The last remodel of the hotel was in the year 2002. There is an outside dining area, with umbrella tables in front of the hotel where you can sit and enjoy the park, and watched people of Merida. Inside the lobby, the large beamed ceiling over the pasta floors, takes you back to the feeling of the 17th century. Most of the dining room looks out onto a beautiful courtyard with although there is a separate dining room with a tray ceiling beams and air-conditioning. This area could also be used as a meeting room or for parties.
The 53 rooms, which included a Junior Suite 4 rooms that have individual queen-size Beds and the rest have a variety of double and single or three singles, all with private baths. The historical charm continues to all three floors. The pool area on the roof has a wonderful view to the inner courtyard into the cathedral located just one block away.
